Club Competitions

At present we run two competitions annually through the playing season (September to May).  One is the matchplay competition, based on the results of games played in inter-club matches.  The other is the competition for the Kellett Trophy.  We also periodically hold Swiss Tournaments based on 10-minute (per player) rapidplay games, usually combining these with refreshments as a social event.

Matchplay Competition

The Matchplay Competition is based on results obtained in team matches throughout the playing season, scoring 1 for a win and 0.5 for a draw. At least 7 games must be played to be in contention.  

Kellett Trophy Competition

This is an internal tournament in which those entering played up to four games against all their competitors and score 1 for a loss, 2 for a draw, and 4 for a win.

Our Swiss Rapidplay Tournaments

In normal times we organise three Socials + Rapidplay Competitions on Wednesdays in September, December and May.  They are all well attended and highly enjoyable. Since the pandemic our social events have been online.  Watch the Home page of this site for announcements of the dates!  The next event will be soon after the season starts in September.
